Set against the UK’s first Earthship, Ground will have its world premiere at Brighton Festival in May 2024. 

Featured on Grand Designs, Earthship Brighton is a pioneering off grid eco-building. Powered using the natural elements, stories of past and present invite curiosity and connection to the land, to our food and each other.   

Each ingredient has a story to tell. Gather, eat and listen.

The Ground Brighton menu will be developed and delivered by Chef Jethro Carr, Director of Brighton’s Kitchen Academy, in partnership with vineyards, breweries, roasteries, and vegetable growers across Brighton and the South East.

Jethro has run cookery classes across the UK and has been commissioned by the BBC Good Food Shows, The Soil Associations Organic Food Festivals, Fairtrade, the WOMAD Foundation, The Tour De France, BBC Spring Watch, Kew Gardens, Blenheim Palace, Fareshare and many more. 

The wines have been individually selected by Rachael Curry to showcase the food and ambience at Ground Brighton. Excited by what is transpiring in the English wine scene, Rachael has used her expertise to single out perfect pairings from the plethora of stunning wines that local Sussex winery Bolney Estate have to offer. 

A true wine enthusiast, Rachael can usually be found protecting the quality of premium wines as they take an innovative, final form in cans! She has spent considerable time behind the scenes in the wine industry, from testing wine in laboratories to getting her hands dirty in a South Australian cellar.
